Spintech

Hey all, was wondering if anyone on here has done a spintech muffler on a 3rd gen? I have seen them on LSx and on old classic muscle but nothing in between...

They sound pretty wicked, just curious about how it would sound on a TPI

Re: Spintech

They sound awesome but they aren't the best in power. I picked up 10rwhp changing to a Hooker Aerochamber from the Spintech that came with the 3.5" mufflex exhaust system for my car. I've seen other not so good test results dyno and track.

Honestly, on my stock engine, I am not too concerned with power

Mostly interested in the sound. My bro had a spintech on his Silverado 350TBI, and it sounded like a beast... I was curious as to how it sounded on a TPI/3rd gen

Thanks for teh response though... surprising to hear that they are bad performance since they seem like they have a straight through style

Have you ever seen a cutaway of one? I have. The baffles are like half moons kinda-I guess hence the name Spintech. Looking at the baffle design I can see how they might not flow so well.

Re: Spintech

I had a 3" spintech on my IROC (high compression mild-cammed 350 TPI) and hated it. It made the car sound like a 77 buick station wagon with a hole in the muffler. I eventually swapped to a Dynomax Ultra-Flow and was much happier.

Re: Spintech

Had 3" pro street spintechs om our 55. They were a huge cork. Slowed the revs down a ton.

Sounded, ok.
