Need opinions on Spintech mufflers.

Is anyone running a spintech muffler on their thirdgen? I am going to go with a single 3.5inch system along with my SLP 1 3/4 headers and I want to run a spintech muffler, but Ive never heard the way they sound. Supposed to flow real well too. Anyone have any opinions??

Im probably going to have a Speed Shop in Oklahoma City make me a 3.5 inch system. I think Im gonna put the muffler right in front of the rear axle and dump it. My buddy has a 4th gen Z28 set up this way with a 2chamber flowmaster and it sounds pretty sweet. I want to do the same thing, but with a spintech muffler.

By the way, this is going to be on my 89 which has a Ram Jet 350 with Fastburn heads and an LT4 Hot Cam. It ought to be enough for that motor. If not, I will go with 4inch.

Thats the way I have mine set-up, a single 3 1/2" that dumps before the axle with a flowmaster. I just got a ticket for illegal exhaust so I'm going to have to make me a tail pipe. Since my 383 will be going in soon I've decided to go 4" - HOME MADE THAT IS

I'm running the Spintech 3444XL 3" in/out and love it. Much deeper and less obnoxious than the Flowmaster. Allegedly it flows better, but I have no data other than a consistent 0.10sec improvement in my 1/4mi times.

I got my spintech put on last year and love it... 3 inch from the headers back. Friend of mine just put a dual 3inch system on his Firebird with the spintechs on.. dang thing spins through 1st and 2nd at half throttle with drag radials I think they sound better than the flowmasters, real nice muscle car sound. I'll try and get a recording tonight if I can.

Yeah, my friends car is a 67 Firebird with a bigblock chevy pushing about 500 hp. I'll get a recording of that one of these days, he's out of town at the moment. Wish I had a better microphone for recording, this mic was about 15 feet away and it still gets messed up on the revs. The Firebird is about 2x as loud as mine lol and much louder than the flowmasters he had on.

I have the 3.5" Mufflex with a SpinTech 3.5" in and single 3.5" out it's the nicest sounding system I've had on there. I've had a Banks, and Flowmaster (both 3"), but I like this one the best. No sound clip.
