What is the best third gen exhaust kit, easy install preferable.
I need a exhaust system for my 1987 Camaro that has a 1978-1979 305 engine in it.
It can be mildly loud, nothing crazy, I have no ground effects, so i think it will need to be fairly compact.
my budget is like 600-750$ (nothing crazy i know) Not too worried about crazy horsepower gains, but anything is better that my current system, which is mostly rust/flex pipe.
I was looking at the dynomax 8009 dual system, but I've heard that a single three inch pipe will be easier to install and less likely to scrape.
Any help is welcome, I'm a little lost here

Any 3" aftermarket setup will suffice. All depends on what you want it to sound like. Other than that, you can't go wrong with any of the top brands.

I think that the best sounding exhaust on thirdgens is the GMMG chambered exhaust from madhammer. Not sure if they still sell them or not, but they sound amazing!

I second this statement. I have that exhaust on my Camaro and it sounds fantastic. I purchased mine from Madhammer back in 16 I think. And its still listed on their website for sale. Its listed as a gen 4 exhaust kit but it fits our 3rd gens.

I have the Hooker one. Fit great, only took acoupla hours to install, sounds OK. A bit too loud for my taste but at least not offensive. Not like a Blowmaster, that I had for a few weeks, that sounded about like dragging a 55-gallon drum behind me on a 20' piece of chain. I prolly coulda cut the Y-pipe and put a resonator or 2 in to mellow it down some more (the high school kids with Honduhz that sound like kiddie bikes with baseball cards in the spokes of their wheels wouldn't know what hit em) but it was OK nonetheless.
