1989 Firebird formula, hardtop 5 spd

car has the best of the best options and most desirable options!

FULL power options, power windows, locks, mirrors{all work great} Black cloth interior, great shape no rips/tears, interior is clean as you can see in the pic. car also has pioneer dash/sailpanel speakers, and a kenwood higher end MP3/BLUETOOTH cd deck, bluetooth is wired up and functional, the microphone is on the steering column out of sight, works great, and handy for avoiding those gay *** chicago cell phone tickets. it obviously has the 140 mph speedo, all gauges/lights work great, both headlights were recently rebuilt a month ago with new motors, and METAL headlight gears, these will NEVER fail again. everything on the car works as it should, all of the lights/powerpulldown hatch functions perfectly/signals etc etc.

350 roller block unsure on mileage, but runs GREAT, no smoke/no leaks/no noises, holds 30 psi oil pressure hot, compression check is within 5% in each hole.

tremec 5spd with Spec clutch, hurst short throw shifter, clutch grabs hard..chatters a bit, but its daily driveable, i do every day.

9 bolt with big brakes and pbr aluminum calipers 3.45 ratio

LS1 alum driveshaft

Nitrous works tpi plate kit, modded to LT1 plate specs{more holes in spraybar} its good to 175hp.

vortec heads with comp cams springs, small "stealth" cam, scoggin dickey lower baseplate for vortecs, edelbrock headers, offroad ypipe, flowmaster 3 inch single in/out flowmaster 44, full emissions delete{air/egr}, 180 thermostat, proform 1.6 roller rockers, gutted and ported iroc maf, new heated 02{safe for leaded race fuel},bbk adjustable fuel pressure regulator, UMI panhard bar, poly trans/tq arm mounts, crane hi6s ignition box, edelbrock elite valvecovers, walbro 255lph highflow/highpressure fuel pump

computer has been tuned by myself, no check engine lights, EGR/AIR has been deleted in ECM.
car has a bunch of other misc mods/updates,but to much to list, car is very clean for the age and for being an illinois car has light bubbling in the rear just ahead of the rear wheels its an easy over fall/winter fix, runs/drives great. heat is hot, a/c blows ice cold for a few days, needs an oring on the compressor in the back.

asking 5k obo or trade, negotioable cashwise, trade must be in good shape and run/drive. open to anything, but looking for a 94 and newer 4x4 dodge, or V8 grand cherokee.

forgot to add, the SLP runners/bbk throttle body are no longer on the car, car has stock TPI runners, and stock 48 mm tb on it...

708 913 3852, txt/call for more details or to see the car

asking 5k obo or trade, negotioable cashwise, trade must be in good shape and run/drive.

Cold air intake, catted downpipe, zzp 3.5 pulley, new sway bar end links tie rod ends, control arms, controlarm bushings, ball joints, stuts, stut top mounts, car has high miles on the body but motor and trans only have less than 115,000 on them.

Re: 1989 Firebird formula, hardtop 5 spd

I wish you were closer. I'm quite interested and have an interesting possible trade. How about a lil more info on the car. Mileage? Options? Everything works ( as in headlight motors, windows, trunk motor...etc )? I'm assuming it's been down the 1/4. What did it run ET and MPH.

I'm trying to sell/trade my '95 Infiniti G20 thats been turbo'd. Not sure if your interested in anything foreign. It's a quick fun little car that was done right. LMK if you might be interested and more about your bird. Thanks.

Re: 1989 Firebird formula, hardtop 5 spd

This is the add i have on another forum.

Well the time has come to move on. 1995 Infiniti G20. Car has LSD and G20T wing. Dark green with camel/brown interior. 180,000 miles on body. Not sure of mileage on motor. B14 trans has 110,000 on it. Car has PS, PB, Air ( removed ), cruise ( not hooked up ), PL, PW, rear defrost. Car runs great. 20 HG of vacuum at idle. 15.3ish AFR at idle. 14.8-15.3 AFR at cruising. 11.4 - 11.8 AFR at boost. Turbo spools great. No idea about shaft play. Havnt taken it out since i got the car. Did a boost leak test and had only a few minor vacuum line leaks which i fixed. None of the pipes leaked. Only Mobil 1 10w-30 since i got it. Also has Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil in the trans.

Quite a few know the car in the tri state area. It started life as a top mounted DET swap from N.Y. Then it made it's way to Philly where the new owner gave it a front mount, 550's and a Z32 maf. It was, to say the least, in need of some TLC when i got it.
Body
Car has original paint from what i can tell. Typical scratches for a 13 year old car. Only rust is on the driver and passenger fender and just starting in the driver side door jam ( surface rust ). The guy i bought it from had someone air brush the hood. Some like it, some don't. It started to grow on me so i left it. The hoods a little beat up. Seems someone tried to close it with 2 studs or bolts sticking up higher than they thought they would be and pushed 2 "bumps" into the hood. The clearcoat has some scratches. But the airbrushing still looks good and actually gets compliments all the time. I installed a G20T wing that i picked up from G20.net. Third brake light on wing works. All windows tinted.
Interior
Has leather but the seats are in bad shape. Hence the seat covers. The whole interior is beat up. The driver door panel has seen better days. The carpet is permanently filthy. Someone spilled something on the passenger side floor that stained the carpet. Looks like it might have been oil. Headliner is in good shape but has a small hole. There was no carpeting in the trunk when i got the car. I picked up all the carpeting from a local bone yard for it. Trunk is very clean. Replaced the gauge cluster with a new one because the factory tach stopped working. So the odometer shows 128,000. All lights work. AEM Eugo Wideband. Autometer boost, oil and water temp gauges. Gauges are installed where the factory stereo goes. Stereo relocated below the heater/AC switch. I used a dremel to open up the hole where the stereo now goes. Standard stereo chassis slides in snug. Brand new headlight/blinker switch and wiper switch. New time control unit.
The good stuff
U13 JDM SR20DET, T25, HKS front mount, 2.5" intercooler piping, 370 cc injectors, Z32 MAF, Calum basic B14 ECU programmed for 370 cc @ 4 bar-Z32 MAF-turbo-O2 delete-EGR delete ( also have chips for 550 injectors ), TurboXS bypass valve ( recirculated ), Hallman Pro RX boost controller, 3" turbo back exhaust, No Cat, Vibrant resonator, Magnaflow muffler, Nismo FPR, Walbro 255, Autometer fuel pressure guage, 1995 B14 LSD trans with about 110,000 on it, ACT HDSS clutch, B&M S.S. shifter, ES shifter bushing, Koyo stock replacement radiator, NGK Iridiums, Bosch wires, Powder coated valve cover
1999 G20 15" rims. AKA Meshies. Cooper All seasons. 195-60-15. 15 MM wheel spacers on rears. Dimpled and slotted front rotors with Axxis ceramic pads. Newer rear rotors and ceramic pads. KYB GR2's. G20T rear wing off of a Green G20T.
The car made 224 horse/229 torque at 9 psi. Spikes to 12 psi but by about 5500 it's down to about 9. Damn T25's...=P...AFR is about 11.4-11.8 from 5000 to redline. 2 trips to Englishtown netted me a 13.94 @ 101.78. That was on street tires spinning 1st and 2nd. That was with giant '02 Spec V 17X7's. Car hooks up alot better now with the 15's. It actually accelerates in 2nd gear with no wheel spin. It keeps up with my brothers slightly modded EVO 8, which needless to say he doesnt care for much...=P.
The bad
Front windows go up rather slow when it rains. I regreased the tracks but it didn't help much. Blower motor is hot wired. I have a toggle switch that turns it on. Theres 1 speed. High. Something in the dash is shorted and i couldnt even replace the blower relay without it blowing the second i put a new one in..After about 4 "attempts" i gave up and didnt fight with it till a little bit ago when i just wired the fan motor to a toggle. Like i said the interior is not perfect. A good clean up and possibly replacing a few pieces would help. It needs a windshield. It is cracked from behind the rear view mirror all the way down to the bottom ( by the dash ). Windshield should be replaced by me shortly. Like i said rust is minimal. As seen in the pics. The door jam rust is just surface rust.
It's a fun car. Not many legit 13 second G20's around. With some stickies this is a solid 13.5 car. It has never been properly "tuned". It's always felt good and the dyno numbers, track times and A/F ratio prove its running pretty good. With some tuning you could probably eak out some more ponies out of it. All stuff installed by me except for the trans. The list of things i have done since i got it are endless.

Yes thats $4614 worth of parts in a year and a half. And im sure i'm missing a few pieces. Plus the $300 to get the trans installed. I just replaced the cheaper auto meter oil press. and water temp with the better gauges. They go for over 150 each. Didn't seem that extreme as i was purchasing the stuff. But now it's a real eye opener.
I live in the real world. And i know the market for these cars is small. So i'm not putting an astronimical price like most do. I'm looking for $3500 OBO. Which is less than most are looking to get for there much older B13's with stock turbo swaps. Might consider trades.
