This is interesting. It looks like you've got a real late '82 here.
The "C" designates 1982 model year, 09E is a build code, fourth week of September 1982. 1FP87 is Camaro Sport Coupe/Z28. L is for Van Nuys, CA assembly. 220280 is the production sequence no. Should also be the last six
of your VIN. 18R is for charcoal vinyl seats. 75L 75U is the paint code for bright red. W ??? AR9= bucket seats. 286891 is for in house use only, job no. maybe? There is no CC1 on the plate which leads me to believe this is a hardtop car. Thanks for posting a pic of your trim tag, hope this helps!

I might be able to help on the "W". If this letter were an "L", this signifies Lacquer based paint. I'm assuming the "W" signifies Water based which makes sense for Van Nuys (California).

so this is all i can really find out about the car? deffinately some good information guys i really do appreciate it. i dont really think its a "rare" car its just something i want 1982 4cyl 4-speed Sport coupe, i wasnt sure if you were able to find out the gear ratio ect. from this? i assume its a low option car but it does have A/C(obviously would be needed in california) is there any other location for more info of it? or is that it?

yeah thats pretty much it unless you found a build sheet
the late 82 built ones are common,
my t/a is 08E
which is 5th week of august
yours is september, 5th week
see late year run built ones all the time, nothing wierd or out of the ordinary there
axle ratio and such you cant know unless you decode the axle tube stamping or open up the diff
the vin will only tell you basic stuff like the engine and plant and year and model and not much else
and the body tag says the colors and seats and hardtop or not and not much else
good luck
