1991 Twin Turbo Trans Am

For those interested, there is a new classic road test on The GTA Source Page featuring the famous blue 1991 experimental twin-turbo Trans Am; to my knowledge, Pontiac still maintains the car in its historic collection. There are also two older Camaro prototypes for you Chevy guys and gals, plus and a couple of old Ford prototypes as well.

Just an FYI.... go to "The Specialty File" at the bottom of the Road Test and Reviews section to take a look at this interesting car.

I'm pretty unimpressed with the performance numbers of that car, unless it was suffering from truly MASSIVE wheelspin (which the editor of the article makes no mention of) or it was sick on track day. Even with highway gearing, 600+hp/700+tq ought to do a whole lot better than 12.7 @116.

***edit*** I see it says it was geared for top speed testing, I misread the first time.

I did a search on here for that and came up empty. Is there a link or page that has the info on that intake?

The page is missing an extension (the .htm/.html part). IE takes a guess and renders the HTML, Firefox just displays "as-is".

Sorry about that; I went in and modified the code. It works for me now using Netscape as well.

Trust me.... if you're ever anywhere and get to see this thing in person, it's plenty impressive. I bowed out of a ride around Road Atlanta in it with Jim Mattison.... because my wife didn't want to pilot our red GTA around the track by herself.

Boy, was I a dumb***.
