34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

Love it or hate it, it's a piece of 3rd gen history!

I've never seen one up for sale. Pretty cool... but I hate that tacky woodgrain crap inside!

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

It's a tip of the hat to the gaudy excess of the 80's. Hate it. I look at these things as being no different then someone buying a new Camaro and taking it home and bolting on a set of headers... It's not a factory option, and that TBI 305 isn't exactly breaking new performance standards, so it's just a really hideous Camaro.

Hmph, the small cowl and side door/GFX area remind me a little of a 5th Gen lol.

"most were shipped overseas"

Is there a more glaring reason why Europeans hate us?

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

Theres a reason why only 300 were made. They are hideous and not worth that money. Also most people saw through the appearance only mods. If i was to spend 20k dollars i would at least want it to move. I bet those things were slower than stock camaros with all that add on BS.

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

Some @$$hole (Knudsen Automotive) thought the Firebird and Camaro had so much performance that they needed supercar styling. So he converted Firebirds to Tojans and Camaros to Carralos, and people have been vomiting ever since.

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

I've never seen one before. Looks like a thirdgen camaro and a later 90's grand prix got together and made this.

I just don't see the collectability of cars like these. As mentioned before, a stock car with body mods. At least with Firehawks they had increased performance. Which would fetch more at an auction in twenty years; carralo or nice iroc z? My bet is on the z.

I love the rear. Looks better than stock cars.

The rest had potential, but fell victim to '80s cheese.

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

Actually, I think there were less than 100 of the Carralo... There was something in the neighborhood of 137 Tojans...

Its one of those things that you love or hate, most 3rd genners do not like it, some do. The Tojan is definitely a better looking kit over the Carralo IMHO...

Only thing I didn't like was the straight front shot. The rear shot looked awesome. I would own one for sure. To be different is not always bad.

Just seen a trojan. I agree it looks better. Again though, the front. Looks like a wide 300zx in the front.

Re: 34,000 mile Carralo on ebay

If I were super-rich I'd own a red Carralo for one reason and one reason only. Detective Matt Sykes had one on the TV show Alien Nation during the late 1980's. It would go with the other film and TV vehicles I'd own if I were rich.
