P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

So the original turn signal/wiper/cruise lever for my 92 GTA had a bunch of white lines that got longer progressively for the wiper speed, like 7. The replacement I bought from GM 13yrs ago only has like 3 lines. The notches are still of course physically there to turn the lever to access all of the additional speeds.

Does anyone know where I can find a truly original lever that has all of the correct indicator lines for a 1992 Trans Am? Or perhaps post a picture of one, I was too stupid to keep my original and I don't have any old pics that show it well.

My incorrect NOS replacement is now showing wear on the word "cruise" so I'd like to track down a correct one this time.

This and the med. dark grey front seat belt receivers that I can't find are the only 2 pieces left I need for my interior restoration.

Thanks!

Alex

The 91-92s used p/n 25111209,that's the one w/cruise,delay wipers.

Re: P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

i confirmed the OE part number is correct as Mantaguy posted. I was looking it up on my 82-92 F body parts and illustration catalog for the wiper lever and it's correct. Kinda expensive if you ask me for the OE. They do make aftermarket versions of this lever (I.E. Doorman) however if originality in appearance is what your looking for, then i would stick with the OE GM. As for interior components, they are indeed hard to find at times. I had a difficult time looking for a beechwood colored driver side door sill for my uncle's GTA. I know i found a place that sold them but always worry if its color matching per description. Good luck on the finds!

They used the same picture.

The 90? and up airbag cars used the fatter textured stalk and the shorter wire harness that plugs in where the switch connects.

The older cars use the thinner smoooooove stalk and long harness that plugs in the base of the column

I know there are small differences in the printing as they changed through the yrs so finding the correct NOS switch will be a fun search.

Evidently. All of the ones linked and posted are incorrect, at least for my car. None of those have the little white lines going sideways to indicate the length of delay like my original did.

Re: P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

Well this is annoying, Modern Day Muscle had it on eBay and not their website that I was searching.

This is precisely what my original looked like if I recall correctly:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291049806019

Only one on eBay that is correct. It's funny that he also lists it for 93-02 in another of his auctions. Perhaps my 92 got the 93 version? I'm just glad I wasn't loosing my mind over what I remembered it looked like. It's always bothered the hell out of me since I replaced it back 13yrs ago with the wrong one lol.

I went ahead and bought one. Sucks because I just placed another order from his website a couple days ago that shipped yesterday.

Oh well, I'm just glad I found it. I swear I'm doing the most expensive interior restoration in thirdgen history over here it seems like haha!

Re: P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

I've noticed that with cars other than 3rd Gens, GM would list replacement parts with the most current style graphics as long as it was backward compatible. At least this is what I think what's going on.

For instance, if a '03 GMC stalk would fit an '96 Buick, the catalog would list it as a replacement for the Buick regardless of whether or not the graphics style matched the Buick.

For sure without a doubt, it's frustrating to no end. A great example is the Firebird headlight switch. The replacement is all black without grey.

Re: P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

I received the lever today I bought from ModernDayMuscle on eBay that wasn't listed on their actual website: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291049806019

Super fast shipping as always from him and exactly the part in the picture so it's spot on what I have been looking for.

Thanks!

Something to note regarding the earlier style shown at the bottom of the above pic. The replacement stalk has a "shelf" under the cruise switch. I don't know which years actually had that, but my '87 does not. I think it was up thru '87 was without it and '88 and '89 had it.

Re: P/N or picture of correct turn signal lever

Want to know something really really funny. My 2007 Tahoe has almost the identical turn signal lever... BUT instead of the cruise control button and slide switch, it is the rear window wiper.

Let me tell you the number of times I have turned on the rear wiper only to wonder why I am losing speed when I let off the gas... And I have owned it since April...

FWIW, I have the same style from a '91 Camaro with the difference being the yellow print.
I've never seen a used one without the fading, (especially on the upper top) but I'm not sure if it's from the sun or a combination of that and handling.
