Looking for "accent color" paint code on 85 z28
Hello everyone,
I've got an 85 z28 Camaro I'm preparing to repaint. I was able to find the paint code for the body no problem, however there is trim along the bottom of the car that's painted silver. The insides of the rims are the same silver color, I believe GM called it an accent color. I've seen a lot of other Camaro's with this same silver painted trim and wheels so I was hoping someone on here could tell me what the paint code for this silver color is. I can post the RPO codes for the car if that would help.
Thanks for looking

Out of curiosity, what color is your lower body striping? It seems it was USUALLY the same color as the interior, unless the interior was black. And blue cars often had blue striping regardless of interior color. Those seem to be the biggest exceptions I have noticed over the years.

Thanks, that color certainly looks right, can anyone confirm that this is the correct color?
I believe it had silver striping along the bottom if i'm remembering correctly, the interior was like a navy blue.

Was the interior possibly black? When the material fades, it turns a sort of dark blue color. There was no blue interior option after '84.

WA 7448 Dupont #B8140. I have a picture of the code, but it will not let me send it.

7448 Dupont accent silver is correct. I used it on my '84 Z28 when we repainted it and it is perfect.

Thanks again everyone, the paint has been ordered.
Also 86blackiroc, I had a chat with the original owner yesterday, she said it had a grey interior when new but it eventually faded badly and was dyed blue years later. So like you said the interior would have matched the stripe color originally.
Oh also I'm looking for some flat black paint to use on the metal piece that goes around (and I'm guessing supports) the glass on the hatchback. There is some surface rust on several sections of it and I would like to repaint just the sections that need it and not the whole thing, for that reason I need as close of a match to the factory color as possible. If any one has any suggestions on what to get I would appreciate it.

I've used Duplicolor Trim Black in the past and looked correct as far as I could tell. It's downside is sanding scratches easily show through and the paint wears thin on a car that lives outdoors. But with proper prep on a car that is garaged, it's a good option considering it's cost and availability.

If you have the original SPID I believe (might be wrong as it is for Firebirds) that you should look for an RPO WW( ) RPO. Sometimes the WA color was not listed as such but only as a WW( )
Look for WW1, WW2, WW3, WW4, WW5 etc
The reason why the accent color may not be listed on the SPID sheet is technically the body of the car was painted all one color, only the ground effects (& Bumpers) were painted 2 colors
Sometimes however the WW might not have been used even though they had the 2 tone as some colors were only available as a 2 tone.
Also it could be listed in your RPOs as a ??L IE Typical RPO codes for 2 tone cars in 1985
12L - Silver in 1985
15L - Medium Gray
60L - Light Chestnut...
(I doubt you will find these)
