Re: Fake IROC - 1986 Camaro on Ebay

What Ive done in the past is demand a photo of the vin plate thru the windshield and the SPID sticker. That usually shuts them up. Or they throw all sorts of excuses at you.

To me this looks like the typical "any Thirdgen Camaro is an IROC" misunderstanding, not him really trying to mislead people.

Re: Fake IROC - 1986 Camaro on Ebay

I like how it says the car has been taken great care of by the second owner and was always garaged. It looks horrible if you ask me!! All of the leaves on the windshield are proof that it's been garaged.

The door vents having so much dirt tells me the car has not been taken care of, stored with the windows down/or TTops off, the AC is disconnected, the distributor cover is gone, heater core lines are missing, etc.

This is a car that someone put 1988+ badges on and put 1991+ wheels on, and wasn't cared for very well.

In "muscle car" terms, sounds like it's what we call a "clone".

Caveat emptor.

No particular need to call out the Ebay Liar Police on him.

Is this were it was always garaged? The leaves are an easy giveaway. I always find low mile claims disturbing when the cars looked like that under the hood. I'm not sure how any 38K mile ends up in that position. Not saying it can't happen, just seems very unlikely.

There is no way that is a 38K mile car.. no way.. not with those signs of wear under the hood....just no freakin way..even if left out in the rain 100% of the time.

I saw that too. It had me laughing. Must have been a roofless garage.

Carfax shows it having 74,296 miles in 1990, so definitely not a 38K original car.
