where to buy A pillars?
Hello,
I have a 1989 RS convertible. The previous owner wrapped leather around the pillar(s). After I removed all of the leather I could see why. These things are cracked everywhere. I can't seem to find a place that sales these.
I need driver and passenger side. I need the top as well (piece that go's along the top of the windshield).

I'm pretty sure the bottom half of the A-pillars are normal T-top parts that are cut down to fit. The top piece above the windshield is specific to the convertible. You could try a dealership, but I wouldn't waste the drive across town. I'd still say your best bet is going to be a junkyard. The hard part is finding a convertible F-body in a junkyard. Try putting a want add in the classifieds here, or post this on the convertible sub forum.

Less rice then whoever painted everything tan... *cringe* It'd be a pain in the ***, but you might consider just swapping out the entire dash for one that hasn't been painted. It shouldn't be too hard to find one in decent shape, most of the dash stuff isn't worn most of the time.

this is a fiberglass overlay. there are a few companies that make it, but this is the cheapest I found. only $195 usd.

Where are you located? I can't see a dash shell being hard to find. They hardly ever get removed from junkyard cars. It's time consuming and there are a lot of hidden bolts and screws. It's doable if you can find one in the junkyard.
I'll suggest it again... Find someone parting a Camaro in the classifieds. It shouldn't be hard to find a good dash. If it's local and you can pull it yourself, it shouldnt even cost you much. If you expect someone else to pull it, or have to ship it, you'll have a lot more invested.
I'd skip the cap. Aftermarket parts like that never seem to fit right. Original used parts should be easy enough to find. You just have to go out and look.
