So I just picked up three new gauges and I don't really know where to mount them. Where is the easiest place to mount them and best way to route the wires?

Option 1: 3 pillar gauge pod. Where is the best place to run the wires? (refuse to do it the the door jam and into the hood)

Opotion 2: Universal dash mount. how would I run the wires and would I have to cut a hole into the dash?

If you mount it under the vents I ran the wires thru the map light hole that was there. Just took out the light as when you put the gauges in you wont be able to use it anyways. You can also use the map light for the lighting on the gauges if you cut off the socket

I went searching for this light and was surprised to find one there. My bulb must be out, because it doesn't light up. Thinking I will go with this setup then. How hard was it to route the wires to the engine bay? did u have to take any of the dash apart?

You don't have to take the dash apart but take off the dash pad.

So I took the dash pad off and was able to route the wires down to where to the pedals are. I couldn't find a hole in the firewall big enough to run the thermometer of the water temp gauge through. Did you guys drill your own hole or is there something obvious I missed?

i mounted mine under the vents just like your pic,and ran the wires and oil pressure tubing down above the pedals,and drilled a small hole,dont forget to put a rubber grommit in there so the wires and tube dont rub through and cause a short/oil leak- when i did mine the first time i didnt,and a shot of hot engine oil up my pant leg was a real wake me up!

I see people are using cardboard and plexi glass to mount gauges.

I have a 91 RS was a V-6 now a 350. Can i install mech gauge's can this be done? I know have to install high beam and blinker lights.

I wuldnt say cardboard but I get wha you mean. Will you be doing al autometer or aftermarket gauges in the dash? Mechanical gauges can be done but you got to be extra careful of the lines to not pinch them and make sure they are tight or they will leak and not function properly. I would install the MIL light if its fuel injected as well if you go that way.

It really all in what you want to do

if you look in the corner like from the passenger seat there is a hole ( was on my 92) in the corner where the vents met the dash in the back against where the gauges are in the car.
