Re: Chilton's or Haynes

Factory manual all the way.
But, if you are going to use Haynes/Chiltons, it is best to have both. I have often found info in one that wasn't in the other, and vice versa.

I think the Chilton's has the edge.

Re: Chilton's or Haynes

To me, for my 88 T/A the Chiltons is better. The Haynes is kinda like a owners manual. I have to jump on the service manual opinion also. Just get a digital copy and put it on a lap top and use it anywhere.

Re: Chilton's or Haynes

Just get a factory service manual for your year and model, nothing comes close. I got one for my 90 Camaro on ebay for 20 bucks shipped. Just search for your year and model CSM (chassis service manual), example for mine was 1990 Camaro CSM.

x 1 million. Used the Haynes & Chilton manuals for a few years. Once I bought the factory manual, I haven't opened up the other two since. I honestly forgot where they are in the garage, and I really don't care.

Re: Chilton's or Haynes

factory Helm book. I have one for every GM ride I own and its well worth it. the hayes is about 1½ in thick and covers all 10 years, the Helm book covers YOUR YEAR ONLY and is about 2 in thick. lots of info lost in the hays books.
