89 GTA Interior Resoration/Cleanup

When I got my car it had some nasty wood grain interior kit, it sounds like this was a dealer option potentially and it might be quite rare, but Pontiacs don't strike me as luxury cars or any attempt at one.. so I removed it lol

Here's the video:

Well done! I can't stand those tacky aftermarket woodgrain kits. They ruin the whole interior IMO. May have been installed by a dealer, but I don't think there was ever a GM-produced kit for it for dealers. Most likely aftermarket.

That's what I found as well, likely a dealer, likely pretty rare that it was done and likely rare for good reason lol

Everything I found was that there were no factory options for this.

Except for the glue residue you had to clean off, it looks like the wood grain appliqué preserved the stock plastic very well.

I remember when the early C4 guys were doing this along with the breadbox delete. I never liked it. I thought it looked tacky like a Euro import and the protruding bread box never bothered me. I actually liked it.

It was a bit of a pain to be honest, steam made it better. But yes, the plastics underneath are nearly mint, they needed a little cleanup, but not much.

I actually kind of like the wood grain. Maybe something darker, like ebony.
