Moroso LS1 oil pans

Check these two links out the first is the ls oil pan dimension from ls1 tech http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conver...-oil-pans.html

The second here is the ls pans from moroso.. it looks like at least one would fit and possibly solve our k-member issues.. I priced some at Jegs and they are in the 200$ range http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=17002

I don't know if these will work, just thought the info was worth sharing as possible solutions..

DANG IT, I wish they would've been out a few months ago - I think I paid like $175 for a used one... (And not having to clearance the K-frame would've been a nice added bonus!)

On top of the price...Im still not convinced that it would fit without k-member mods. It still looks like it'd be tight where it transitions into the sump. I think you need to relocate the oil filter too.

Besides...for that price tag, Ill modify the k-member haha. I wish tubular k-members were more street proven and had a slightly lower price tag. That's the best solution for a near bolt in swap.

I was going to look into a moroso pan but I picked up a really clean LS1 fbody pan with the windage tray and pickup for $130. I couldn't pass up that kinda deal.

im going to use a ctsv oil pan, they are pretty much identical to a fbody, but better oil control supposedly, since they were deigned for road racing

I don't think you all are looking at the right pan, if you scroll to the bottom of the Moroso catalog link you will see it, this is the one that is most promising for fit.

219.99 for the pan I even said it was from JEGs, come on folks I take pride in giving correct information, just trying to share options. To add to the price would be the 91$ pickup.. so total it together..

The pan xpndbl3 linked from summit is basically a fancy version of a stock LS1 pan, not the one I was thinking about, 20140 is the pan that is shallower in depth with more room before the sump.. From looking at everyones trouble it would seem just 1/2 an inch would solve the k-member issue. Stock is 11 1/2 inches from the back of the pan to the end of the sump.. the moroso is 9 11/16 I should think that extra inch and a bit could work wonders for some folks.

Thats more like it... That pan looks like it might work.

However, for $310 bucks, Im still a fan of modifying the k-member. Then again, I can weld. So this pan would be a good option for someone that is looking to not modify the k-member at all or that doesnt have access to a welder.

Don't forget the extra $100+ for the lines and fittings for a remote oil filter as well.

i used the moroso steel oil pan. i had to trim the windage tray a little to clear the pickup, but it fits the k member nicely. the oil filter lines were a real pain to get on, but i've seen newer pans where the fittings are angled to get better access. i have posted a pic of my pan on here before. in the end, though, i think it cost me about the same as getting a camaro pan and pickup, but i do like the extra oil capacity.
