91 Camaro LS1 swap

Hey wuzup peoples,

I am pretty new to this site. Little something about me. My name is Mike and i got a 91 Camaro. I am currently doing a LS1 swap but i got some questions. If you guys can help me out that could be great. I picked up a 99 Z28 complete for cheap =).

O yeah and i been doing alot of reading on this form for the LS1 swap. Helps out alot you guys ROCK!!!

Questions.

1. As anyone done a LS1 smog legal swap?

2. I live in CALIF and i want to do a smog legal swap but dont know how to go about it. Besides using all the smog stuff from the 99 and gas tank and cats, o2 sensor, etc. But has anyone took there smog legal car to the state reff?

3. If so what did they do and what did they ask for?

Any input would help out alot thanks.

-Mike

Re: 91 Camaro LS1 swap

Youre gonna have to install the LS1 dash, most of the wiring, and any other emission related bits and pieces.

The reason for the dash is so you can use the gauge cluster, and keep the EVAP functioning. Do some searching in the swap forum for the EVAP and you'll find info on why it wont work without the cluster etc etc.

Im sure its been done in CA. Ive seen vids of guys on youtube from CA and they obviously were able to get it ref'd.

TPI Terror lives in california, and he's got plates on his and is driving around, you might want to ask him what he did.
