what did I forget?
I just finished rewiring my 89 firebird but it wont start, i must have forgot something and hoping you guys can give me some clues.
98 ECU/Auto
key on, check engine light comes on, fuel pump primes, sends data to my scanner, can see TPS reading correctly and coolant temp ect.
When I try to start it, with my hand on the injectors theres no pulse, I pulled a spark plug and no spark either.
I currently have the 4l60E unplugged, surely that wont prevent it from starting?
No codes or pending codes on my scanner, and I have power at injectors.
so what did I forget? Thanks.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but it sounds like VATS
INJ have 12v, but no pulse
Theres another problem with no spark, thats NOT VATS related
Check that the crank and cam sensors are plugged in. See if your scanner registers RPM during cranking to rule out a bad crank sensor. If those are good, check 12v IGN and ground for the coils. If those are good, ohm out the coil circuits from PCM to connectors. If those are good, likely a bad PCM (extremely rare)
4L60E unplugged will not cause a no start. Its actually a diagnostic step when troubleshooting trans issues. Unplugged means 3rd gear only

Re: what did I forget?
Make sure you have 12 volts when cranking hooked to your engine harness. I ran into this issue using a circuit that was cut off during cranking. There is one big fat pink wire coming from the C100 that has 12v at ignition on, and while cranking.
Ive seen that cause more than a few headaches for people. VATS for the most part will still let it run for a second or two. At least it always did for me.
If youre using a pre-built harness, like from pocket, then this is probably not the issue. But worth a check anyway.
