ls question.

In about a year i plan on dropping a 5.3 into my gta. I have the chance to work a deal with someone who has a trashed 5.3 out of 2015 silverado. I know its a latter gen I will probably be using a gen 3 or 4. My question is are the blocks actual mounts to the frame in the same location? I was going to see if i can get the block off him cheap to use as a mock up. The motor i am looking at is trashed there is no rebuilding it atualy has a cracked in half piston and several other pistons blown apart so bad u can see the actual rings.

Re: ls question.

The motor sits in a similar place, but the engine mounts themselves are different on the block. You need an adapter plate adapters like these:http://www.hawksmotorsports.com/82-9...unt-pads-pair/

Re: ls question.

Would also be a good for a mockup so you use this block to notch your k member and re-do the wiring harness.

Re: ls question.

The 2015 Silverado 5.3 is a Gen V engine. It is not an LS based engine. The mounts (locations) are different.
