transporting your camaro across the country
How would you go about transporting your camaro across the country?
Details: I moved to Texas from Iowa for work, and left the camaro behind… now I have absolutely no vehicle to pull a trailer to get it to Texas… I have a 98 blazer but there is just no way I can pull a trailer 1200 miles with that much wait on it… I would love to just fly to Iowa and drive it back, but that doesn’t sound realistic either…. Any ideas…?

Re: transporting your camaro across the country
I did a hunt on the net, when I needed someone to ship my TA from New York state to Detroit a couple years ago after I bought it. That led me to these guys:
Nathan Hunt
Vehicle Relocation Rep.
866-604-6414 Ext. 703
www.WiseAutoShipping.com
They did pretty good. Cost me about $600 for an open carry on a semi-sized shared carrier, IIRC.
HTH.

A blazer is Relativley near the standards of a jeep cherokee. and i use my cherokee to pull my Iroc and full Vehicle Trailer to the Track.

Re: transporting your camaro across the country
a blazer will physically pull the car, but i'd hate to be the guy in front of you if you had to do an emergency stop. there simply isn't enough weight and brakes to slow a full sized trailer and car down in a safe distance. i feel the same way about the jeep cherokee situation as well. i have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 that i tow with. i use an 18' open trailer, single axle trailer brakes with a good controller, and weight distribution hitch. i'm hoping to upgrade to a second set of trailer brakes, sway control, load bearing shocks/springs, and an antisway bar for the rear of the pickup truck. towing safely is no joke. having the ability to get the whole rig whoa'ed down in the event of an emergency is priority 1

Re: transporting your camaro across the country
well I shipped my car from green bay WI, to colton CA for $800. I just didnt feel comfortable driving it that long of distance. I went with bluestar auto movers. but i no i can buy a one way plane to WI for about $150-$200 (because ive done it before, kinda) which is way cheaper, but then I guess you have to factor in gas money if you driveit back, and a hotel if you need one too.

Re: transporting your camaro across the country
have you tried uship.com, or any of the other many movers out there? many websites, search for someone with good feedback that meets your needs. I moved my '91 from Virginia to Washington state fully insured for about $1200
there is also the option to move your car by rail at some place like autorail.com. again there are several companies that do this, so do your research.

Re: transporting your camaro across the country
I used A2B transport in April to move my IROC from Columbus, OH to Chicago, IL for $300 covered trailer with insurance included. Took less than 24 hours and got the process started with $50 and balanced paid on delivery. It was a lot easier on my mind to go this route.
