My White 1985 IROC-Z - final pics before winter.
This is just a thread to show a list of everything I did this summer to my Camaro and to show a few fall pics before I put it in the storage facility for the winter.
What Ive done since April. Lots of new or NOS parts!
-Fix long start issue. Removed Bosch III and re-installed original injectors.
-New door lock buttons
-New hazard switch
-NOS parking lamps
-Correct Delco cassette deck
-NOS gauges (except speedo)
-New leather steering wheel
-New GM ignition cylinder
-NOS turn signal stalk
-New Bilstein rear shocks
-Valve seals, left bank
-New underhood bottles
Took the car to 4 car shows this summer, including the world famous Woodward Dream Cruise. Gonna be a long winter. Lets pray for a light and mild winter like last year!!

Your car looks really good and I like how you kept everything as original as possible. I see that your car has the GU6, G80, J65 combo which seems to be rare in 1985. I have heard that only about 200 cars came optioned that way in 1985. I'm wondering what year and month your car was made? I'm trying to figure out if very many were made after May or June 1985 with the GU6, G80, J65 option. I have heard that the G80 option ran out in the late production cars in 1985. I have seen many with the GU6 and J65, but no G80.

Clean car man! Looks great!
On a side note, you have the same bleach looking spots on the rear hatch that I do... Any idea what it is and how to get rid of them?

No idea. It only shows up during low level light, like dusk. Any other time of the day the glass is flawless. Thanks!

Sure. His name is Chuck Pelton. There are other threads on here about him, just search his name. I was lucky enough to live close by so I picked one up at his shop. His number is (248) 363-5025. He does amazing work.

After looking at these pics it's obvious I need new fog lights. They work, but the lenses are cracked and taking on water. NOS ones on eBay are $297. Ouch.
But they would compliment the new parking lights nicely I think.

Do they make reproduction grille inserts with fresh camaro lettering or do I have to look for a NOS one?

You can get a new grill grill, but unfortunately, the new ones are a high gloss black instead of the semi gloss originals. The new ones are also GM originals, so at some point, GM changed their ways. You might be better off repainting yours and hand stenciling the CAMARO in silver.
The bleaching on the rear hatch is the in the glass. You can really see it if you put on polarized sun glasses. You can not get rid of it as it's part of the manufacture of the glass. I'm not sure if it's part of the factory tinting process or if it's from the laminating of the glass. This was visible in cars straight off the assembly line, so don't waste money or time trying to replace the glass because of it. It is normal.

May 85. I am going to get a invoice over the winter from GM which should give me an actual date of assembly or at least an order date. 406TPI, Is yours a Norwood car?
