What is your cars status

Currently.

Mine is running like a champ on motor, i have a 255lph fuel pump, cc503 cam, SFC's, LCA's, relo brackets (long as that GP goes through), and I just ordered a bottle heater for some stable pressure, in the process of being shipped to my house. Need to do some normal maint, have a set of TR-6 plugs to put in, change the oil, hopefully will be doing this tomorrow morning. I also think I need to start looking for a better clutch.

Anyways, whats the status of your guys rides.

Well she got sideswiped by some idiot in a truck. I replaced the mirror and the paint work (no dents) is getting fixed for free by a really good body shop (they owed me...).

Other than that, she's currently badgeless and stripeless, lookin like a V6. Headers and ORY go in next wednesday (hopefully) then I'm planning on N20.

Besides the 'Maro, we're about to pick up a late 60's ride to receive my 454/TH400 setup

mine is kind of apart and in storage, IE no enigne in it and some interior stuff removed for right now so i can replace a couple broken pieces
but otherwise complete,

i built a quick homemade shed around it off the end of this building out of some old 2x4's and plywood i had around in order to hide it out of sight so the stupid city zoning retard guy would quit telling me to get rid of it

ill have to take a pic of it tomorrow hehe

poor car

i need to put another 305 in it and exhaust in which i already have planned out what exact pieces im going ot get and how im gonna do it, and also need to get new quarters all around it, oh and a windshield and one of the two gfx pieces needs replaced,

but solid original early third gen trans am otherwise

when i get called back to the plant from layoffs them im getting an engine and the exhaust and any other mechnically related parts and get it driving i again and then start on the body parts and work

th350 swap is done and good to go, was a thm200c originally

pics attached, the purple car, originally light blue metallic 21L

in which its going back to

purple is kinda gay it looks wrong on this body style, hides too much of the beautiful lines on these 82-84's

its never gonna ever see a boneyard, im not gonna do that to this 82 83 84 bird or, another one, ever again, unlike so many others, especially lately

I'm waiting on a new Formula hood. Went down to the paint shop to look at it and I'm a tad depressed about it. There were some waves in another area of the hood I couldn't see when I was prepping it in advance. Now that the paint is on it, they are pretty obvious and the orange peel is pretty extreme.

How does one "wet sand"?

Car status? It's got some TNT strapped to it and I have the fuse in my hand.

LOL JK

Rebuilt suspension + carb, which I did by myself thankyouverymuch.

Other than that, totally stock...

And getting ready to blow it up. JK.

Dayum,

I'll chime in as well.

My '89 Iroc is roadworthy, just took it for it;'s monthly spin up and down he road.

Car has been non-opp'ed for 3 or 4 years now, but it's still a rush to blow the carbon out.

Needs paint bad, real bad. Interior is still as immacculate as the day I bought it (new), but as most non-clear coated '80's GM rides, there's more paint in the driveway then on the car.

Oh well. Doesn't cost nothing to park it.

Mines a daily driver 70 miles a day despite current gas prices. I get 22 mpg when I drive nice.(Rare) I have K&N air filter, Moog ball joints,Bilstien shocks, Eibach prokit,Chrome plated '87 16" IROC's,Griffin alum. rad.,Flowmaster,no cat,Harwood fiberglass 3" cowl hood(Shaved a few lbs there), shaved rear emblems and antenea. I had a gas be gooder a few years back but got tired of the boring thing. I'm looking at adding the smog legal Edlebrock headers I have sitting in the garage, and I'm waiting for my A/C delete pulley to yank the A/C. (Will I need the heater blower box?) Anyways, it has stock running gear with 130k on it. Feels doggy, but I suppose that's what a heavy car with 200 stock hp feels like. As soon as I find another daily driver/future project, I'll build the IROC the way I dream of now. But for now I'm content with my American commuter.

I was killer to hang out with my Nor Cal Wrecking Crew again. Too bad some crazy old lady in a "Grand Ma" had to crash into my truck

On Topic : Everyone (that's important) knows the status of the infamous Black Beast. Yes my wheels are dirty.

Edit (for Ron) : Guess what bro, the "Free Z" aptly named "Rusty" already has a running gear installed, the correct 84 Z28 hood in the right color AND the interior is almost 100% even with the 'Z28' logo '84 HO 140MPH cluster.

Yes I am the man.

Sweet Ron, I forgot all about that intake.

In fact not just because I have CRS, but I was looking for an Edelbrock so'z I can run my old Holley on it. But I'll have to make a special trip up your way anyways.

PM sent

Edit: I don't have any new pics Maybe I'll post some tamorrow, maybe I'll just drink?

The IROC hood is just 'gellin' like magellan' at my place. Maybe somebody who has a red car will buy it. Red cars are like a virus out in Sac Town evidently hahahha

So I started to push him lol, with all 2.2L of Fury!

My current status of my IROC has the skinnies on the front and my ET streets on the back. It's unregistered and has 3/4 of a bottle left. 1st > 2nd is extremely hard to shift at WOT.
I have a vibration at 75 but it goes away at 100.

Your pic reminds me of the episode of OverHaulin where the mark had built the garage storge around her Vette.

Looks like it may be easier to just take the back wall down, go in through the hatch, to gte it out?

just did a cam, intake and carb swap on a built 355 in my sport coupe. The ecm and all the emissions junk is gone, nice clean engine bay now with steel braided lines. The changes are:

compcams NX288R hyd. roller .520in/.540ex and 236/248 dur. @.050
port matched rpm air-gap intake
holley 750DP
3200 stall edge converter

Now I can't stay out of it...totally fun car to drive

Well I don't understand how I could ask 3500 for the car because its a 305 Z28 with 150k on it, so I doubt that makes it worth over 3k right there. That is unless I'm missing something important about the car that makes it jump in price a grand.

doesn't it have a rebuilt motor, new shocks/struts, new interior, headers, K&N's, did you ever get those SLP runners? besides the fading paint the car is very clean with a straight body. Im sure you could get atleast $2800 for it easy. just because a car is a 305 means nothing, most thirdgens had 305's. plus 350's are so cheap to find and build. If I had a chose I would buy a nice clean 305 car over a so so 350 car, but maybe thats just me

ya it does have those things except the slp runners, didn't get to that part. I suppose it could be worth that much to someone who sees it as you do. Most people see the paint and would turn that price down in a heartbeat because its not a popular color. We'll see if anyone is interested, i haven't listed the car yet.

You'll like the torque of the 383

How much for the 84 CMC?

We have a house in Santa Cruz that my wife and I plan on moving to when the kids are out of school.

Hwy 17 rocks! There used to be a 13 minute club that would race from the TollHouse in Los Gatos to the stop light on Ocean bld were hwy 17 ends if you don't go north or sount on hwy 1 (I think it was ocean bld.)

I'm looking forward to driving the car with the 383 indeed! I sold the '84 CMC car a couple days ago (I'm happy with the selling price). I knew I would miss it so I got this Formula last year from Craigslist. It is an original Bay area California car - body is a great shape but paint peeling off in buckets! I like the medium Maui blue metallic so will get the car repainted in the original color. I want it to look stock, I'm even sticking with the 16" Formula wheels.

Yea, 17 is a kick! I've had folks come up to Thunderhill Park for instruction that just wanted to be able to drive that road better on their commutes! I'm sure their commutes are a lot more fun now that they can go around turns!

I drove 17 this morning. Big fun when the traffic is light.

When do we get to see pics of the Formula, Jules?

Hey Cadillac! The Formula is not much to look at yet as the paint is coming off in big sheets...I'll post some anyway, it will be good "before!"
