Power Tour 2007
I know it's early, but just gauging interest in this. For those that have never been...it's an awesome experience. I am planning on it already with some friends. I was there in 2004 and there were a handful of 3rd gens, but anything seems to be welcome.

I'm planning on doing it in the '66 again. I get another week of vacation in 2007, so I'm toying with the idea of long-hauling. Plus, it ends in Little Rock and I have friends there I can visit.
Definitely won't be in the Firebird. It's running now by the way. The thing has like 3" of ground clearance and a 3.70 gear with no overdrive so long distance driving is not ideal.
Wally- we can exchange cell numbers before PT and try and hook up along the way. I'm sure Shawn (flrtn1) will be going as well.

I did the long haul in 2005 untill the trans in my buddies Formula crapped out on us. In 2006 we went up to Miller Park and took it all the way to the JC Whitney building. In 2007 I am planning on doing the long haul in my IROC if I dont break anything untill then.

Re: Power Tour 2007
We are in the Milwaukee area and plan to pick it up there and take it as far as Memphis. My buddy from Indiana is coming up and he is just finishing a frame off restoration of a 67 RS and his dad is bringing a 67 chevelle. I was at Miller Park for the 2005...just looking, this year we are going to get our car running and on the tour. We are just finishing up my wifes 91 RS convertible restore. Our Phase I restore will be finished the week prior to the tour - hopefully! Phase II is next year and will be a new engine, trans, rear-end, brakes.
This years Repairs/Upgrades:
- Flowmaster American Thunder Cat back Exhaust
- High flow catalytic converter
- K&N air filter
- American Racing 18" Iroc replica chrome wheels
- BF Goodrich g-force KDW2 245/40/18
- Repainting next week (kept factory teal color with new teal emblems)
- Replaced grey carpet with new black and dyed/painted all gray plastic black
- Reupholstered door panels, rear interior quarters, and recarpeted lower center console black
- Put in 2002 trans-am leather seats power/lumbar from a car with only 9k miles
- Replaced a lot of interior stuff - seat belts, shifter plate, vents, ac unit, window switches, door lock swtiches, mirror switches new with yellow lettering
- new shocks/struts/bushings
- Apline IDA-X001 head unit with infinity speakers, basslink II sub w/amp (had to drimal the front left speaker area to get the 4x6 plate speaker to fit)
The attached pic is before restore. We have had the car about 12 years. Hope to see more 3rd gens on the tour!
Word of caution. Chicago area roads are torn to pieces, especially 90 through downtown. I would suggest 294 bypass (which still has construction, but less) for anyone starting in michigan or ohio.

Re: Power Tour 2007
We had problems as well. My father-in-law passed away Sunday morning. We were at my relatives in Indiana picking up our car from being painted and planning to drive back to our home in Wisconsin and start the tour in Racine. Ended up driving 17 hours to upstate New York for the week. Hope to be there next year. Would love to see some picks.

Here are some pics from Springfield http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/b...pringfield_IL/
Kevin there were at least 1000 more cars in Spingfield than in 05 when we went, the fairgrounds was almost out of room.......and the weather was perfect on Tuesday.

We made it but the weather sucked! Only made it to Kalamazoo and decided to give it up after the weather just wasn't cooperating.

Re: Power Tour 2007
My uncle and i went in our cars in 05. Was a great time...we didn't do the long haul but was there saturday for the car show and drove sunday from miller park to JC Whitney. I saw Jerm Boy there as i was leaving for home...was very tired after a couple of days of sun and fun!
I don't think i'll do it this year but hopefully if the route goes thur IL again i'm hopefully do it again real soon!
Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cruising along with classic cars down highways! Steve Poz was there too along with a couple of other members off the board! GOOD TIMES!
