August 20, yeah I'll probably pop on over to watch. It's interesting that SCCA has specifically banned any "drifting" during the event. Odd, I guess it's OK to "power slide" or "skid" in turns -- but not "drift" which as I understand the dynamics of road racing, is the fastest way around a race track. Oh, I guess they mean exaggerated drifting... I'm glad SCCA found a place to do their thing, but gosh you'd think a city/state government responsible for an area with almost a million people living within 30-miles of each other could do more...

Since they're under close watch, I can understand a limit.

I don't have any proper vehicles at the moment so I guess I'm only going to watch it no matter what I think I want to do about it....

No intentially drifting at all. No careless driving involving drifting.

As long as it doesn't "look dangerous" to a non-enthusiast it's okay, as I understand it. Obviously on a tight course there'll be some sliding but if there isn't any improvement or attempted avoidance the driver will probably get kicked.

One step at a time. Once SCCA has something secured, drift session could be next. 1/8 mile could be set up in the lot also. (Obviously at another separate time.)

Seems like the only charge to actually go and watch is whatever the stadium charges for the swap meet. What's that? Like $2?

First car is off at 10am, so that's a nice lazy start of the day for me to check it out.

Also, no outside food allowed (except for reg'd drivers).

Anyone going to poke in and watch?
