Car: 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
Engine: 357 Tuned Port Injection
Transmission: Borg Warner T-5
Axle/Gears: BW 3.45 9-Bolt
I need a 700r4!!!! Help!
I need a 700r4 for a 305 88 Iroc Camaro. I need this to be local, or possibly shipped within a decent amount of time. It needs to be in good working order, and I will pay accordingly. I need this transmission asap. PLease help me out, Im going into the Marines in March, and need this car fixed so I can get around and get everything done. Thanks in advance, Chad.

Well, I can have it shipped, but I need it to get here asap is my only concern. I have bought alot of parts off of TGO, and the people here are extremly generous, so I would have no problem trusting that the tranny is nice, and it is shipped as soon as possible by the seller. Thanks again, for stopping in and trying to help though, Chad. BTW i changed my original post. Im located In WA state.

shipping might be a bitch...but i have a gm goodwrench rebuilt 700r4 with 15k on it, a 2500 stall converter for it and either a B&M or Transgo shift kit I can throw in with it if your interested. I seem to have a deal going but its taking a long time and now i havent heard from the guy in a little while.

With or without converter/shift kit? if so which? i also have a stock converter.

Well, let me know if anything is wrong with the tranny. Also, what year is it? It has to be 88 and up I beleive.

It is from a 90 car and has two problems. one is a cracked tailhousing near where the torque arm mounts. and they are interchangable easily and if you dont have one theyre like 5 dollars. also one of the ears is cracked on the bellhousing, but it was run like this the whole time and its fine. some people dont even run a dust cover at all so its no bid deal. it will just get a little dirty around the converter. let me know. functionially its fine.
