power-adder engine buld-up

O.K, i'm trying to decide on what cu.in. engine to build, known factors are D1sc/intercooled procharger, Accel Gen VII DFI, TPIS base and runners, & ported plenum.
I know i could make alot more power with the mini-ram or stealth ram. but i'm sticking with the LTR set-up.

So anyone wanna throw in their .02, also maybe how you came to your conclusion.

You already have a 88 block. Stick with that unless you want 400+ cubes.

do a well built lowerend 355
You know the usual for a poweradder
4340 forged crank, Good rods w/ arp bolts Forged pistons
and you should be good to go on the lowerend.

A nice set of heads.

With forced induction your LTR wont be a problem. since you want to keep it. Believe it or not I'm thinking about keeping a LTR setup on a 418 w/ twin turbos cuz I like the looks.

Look at prestons car.. ya its a 4inch bore 305 and ran 9's with a vortech. but it was a STOCK GM TPI base extrudhoned. AS&M runners. Lots more to the car to it then that but the point is You wanting to keep your LTR is fine. Don't be fooled into You have to have a HSR,SR,MR etc.....

Well i really want to build a 400+ engine, but i was afraid of the LTR just not being able to feed the cylinders even with the blower.

though if need be, i guess i could sell the D1sc and get the F1sc.

anyone else???

thanks

Larry,

My approach has always been to have a goal first, then build to meet that goal. What are you trying to attain? Is it a specific hp figure or is it an E/T or is it an ambiguous goal, such as to have the baddest bowtie on your block?

You can look at my combo if you want a 350. All i need is a D1-SC to make more boost and more power! So if you want to off that D1-SC PM me.

heh... it's good that you posted those pics chris... I've been trying to figure out how LT1 engine passenger side mount brackets are different then SBC ones for a few days now and that cleared it up.

thanks

I guess the only goal is, i still want to be able to drive it on the street and be reliable, the money is not really a issue for me,

I guess i wouldn't mind low 10's high 9's. but i'm not much into the Drag racing, Don't get me wrong, it's a blast, but it's a street car, not a drag car.

Just would like to be able to hold my own against most of the Motor City street cars.

Thanks for the input guy's.

Larry,

So what you're saying is you want a 9-second street car, right? (Who doesn't!!)

It can be done, but most people don't because it's just too big a pain in the butt... to go fast (ei, work on a car regularly) and still have everything hanging off the engine.
