Well, my turbo just came.

Bought it off ebay, although im confused. I purchased a Turbonetics T60-1 turbo, yet on the turbo its plated

Turbocharger
Type T3
Part No. Super T70
Serial No. A07060020

Does it say Turbonetics or have the T cast into the housing ?

I dont see any numbers or letter on the castings itself, However there is small plating which reads what i have listed above.
Is there a way to identify this w/ the serial number?

Sorry man but most likely nobody will be able to help. I think you should contact Turbonetics and find out what #'s should be on there to verify. I'd imagine a 60 trim would be a T3/T4 hybrid with a T04 housing, but sounds like someone sent you a T3.

This is what was presented on the auction
4" Inlet, 70 trim compressor! like turbonetics
.84ar turbine housing, stage 5 wheel
t3 exhaust flange, and 3" VBAND exhaust outlet!

You've got the exact same turbo I just got - I pulled it apart, measured the wheels - You have a P trim T4 wheel, in a T3 .84 housing, with a T61 wheel in the compressor housing.

Just call it a T61

BTW - it's a T3 footprint, that's it.

Interesting. I think i screwed up big time. While i paid 600 for it and it is Brand new, i see plenty of Super T70's(looks just the same as the one i got) for $399.00 new
