hidden N2o injectors, what about....

I understand what it gets VERY hot under the intake manifold. I saw a N2o setup that was under the intake manifold on a carb setup. I was just thinking about it but would it even be possible to install the MPFI system the same way? If you cool a lot before it goes under the intake.... I know this is kind of crazy but I think it would look pretty cool. Make for a MUCH cleaner engine bay. I know this sounds crazy and I can list a bunch of problems that would need to be worked out, but still I'm interested if anybody has ever done it.

I've seen LT1 intakes done this way as well as TPI ones. I know there is a places that will do LT1 intakes, but don't know about other fuel injection ones.

NOS can customize ANY intake. Whether it's TPI, tunnelram, carb, or TBI. It dosn't matter. If you want it hidden they can and will do it. Your $ is not a concern to them

I had N2o on my 88 Vette. It was hidden out like this:
The bottle in the rear storage area with the storage shade pulled over it and my jacket over the bottle.

The hose ran down the passenger side (inside the passenger compartment) out thru the passenger door seal (that all the wires pass thru) I just had to poke a hole in it big enough for the hose to fit thru.

The best part is the solenoids. If you look closely at your stock A.I.R. diverter valve (its a black switchbox with a few 1 5/8 hoses going into it) you can remove the cover from it. Get an exra one out of a boneyard and mount the solenoid tight next to the FPR on the passenger side. Use the black cover to hide the solenoids.

Now run the feed hose under the plenum to in front of the throttle body and into the duct. Make sure to cover ALL the hoses in SPLIT LOOM (conduit for wiring).

Now for the arming switch. Modify the cigarette lighter so that when you push it in, its armed.

For a trigger I hid a female part of a wiring connector under the dash on the drivers side. The male part goes to a remote trigger switch. You plug it in when you pulling up to the staging lights and your opponent will never see a microswitch on the TB or a button anywhere out of the ordinary.

Wish I took pics....

What I'm talking about is not the N2o. I know you can put the N2o direct port under a manifold but what about fuel injectors. I'd really like to see pictures but I bet nobody has seen this done.

You could, but the injectors are in a better place on top of the intake for 2 reasons.
1- they have a better angle to spray into the head
2- more heat, so not only are you adding more heat to your fuel, but the injectors probably wouldn't live as long either.

But i don't see any reason why you couldn't do it this way anyway.

NOS used to be located less than 3 miles from my house when they were located in cypress. Now they are 15 minutes away by the Orange County Airport. I used to go there all the time to get my bottle filled. I'm telling you they can do ANYTHING you can imagine. I've seen them plumb underneath the manifold. They can plumb some lines into your lawn mower intake if you want them too. Call them up. They are very informative and nice.

My friend had a hidden setup where the N02 went through the block, he drilled through the block to get to the underside of the manifold. Anything is possible. Give them a call. They have seen anything. Their work is first rate.

What ever happened to "TBI all the way", J? Where did this multi-point stuff come from?

I was never anti-multiport efi. I was always against trash talking TPI/LT1/LS1 guys. If you can afford mpfi, why not do it for kicks. Every fuel system has it's pros and cons, for a budget TBI can be a life saver but if I had the money I would go with mpfi just because the market seems to cater to them more so than TBI. When was the last time we've heard of a performance part coming out for the TBI trucks? yeah, lol.
I'm sticking to TBI for a LONG time you can be sure of that. I just was interested in the look of injectors under intake etc.

Yeah, I can imagine the looks you'd get with an empty throttle body, and no (visible) mpfi injectors.
You could say you removed the injectors to improve fuel economy.
