This is a freshly restored Iroc. The paint is show car quality. No fish eyes, no orange peal, just glass smooth.
The engine is now a 5.7 and has the T5 trans with a hurst short shifter.

When you have your alt/battery replaced, what are they saying is wrong with them?

The small wires that is being talked about are the field excitation...

Good point ^^^ The reason many older engines live on NOS is because of ring wear. New engines die because they were not gapped for NOS and thus ring butt and popping the upper ring land off and...

In some cases I have found that cleaning the throttle blades help a lot with this. Open them fully and wipe the throttle ports and back of blades with shop towel and carb cleaner to remove the gunk...

If I remember right the LT1 uses a high torque mini starter and the nose is smaller and you may run into a clearance problem when bolting trans in with original starter still mounted.
