you can just remove it, and plug the vacuum line. search the forum on 'dual snorkel' and you can get some ideas from what others have done.

the only problem with the open element is that once the engine warms up, you are sucking in very hot air. the flow is remarkably better, but the hot air is not. just a thought. can't beat it for $20...

for me i think the best was beating an LO3 rs when i had my old civic, yes i know they are both slow, but the look on the guys face when i stayed with him from a low speed roll to slowly pulling away...

you need to learn to do it yourself, or find someone who does....
