could be carbon tracking in the cap but sounds a lot like a timing issue, im going to go with affliction1 on this one try moving the dis. a little and see what happens couldnt hurt.

the magnetic pick up in the base of the distruibtor is more than likely what they are talking about it sends the signal to the igniton module to charge/discharge the coil that is where it would plug...

anytime you make changes like that your going to have to have the computer retuned to get the most out of the parts, Id also add headers and a cat back to the list to help those heads breath better...

head bolts are cheap if in dout replace them cheep insurance but Ive reused stock head bolts many times and never had a problem just put some moly lube on them before torquing them down.
