When i built the dash I didn't put an engine light back in it. As far as the original prom, it was reprogrammed by TPiS and I do not have a donor to use.

Has it been this way since the tune up? Also, did they adjust the timing during the tune up? if so, you may need to adjust the base timing. For what its worth thats what it sounds like to me.

300hp out of a 305 isn't out of the question, however it would be far easier and less costly to get 300+ hp out of a 350,

if you go with vortec heads you will need to buy an aftermarket base for your tpi. flat tappet cam isn't your only option, you could install a roller cam with retro fit lifters if your block doesn't...

keep in mind when you do rebuild the engine you will need to have the chip recalibrated, or you coud just buy a new aftermarket one.

yes, I can get it to idle if i adjust throttle body set screw out, but that that isn't the solution to the problem is it? shouldn't the IAC maintain idle?

It just dies. If I keep pedal to it it will stay running, but as soon as I let off the pedal it will die.

Hey all, I recently built the engine and got it installed in my 92 firebird, the engine runs good, problem is it wont idle. I installed a new IAC valve when I build the engine? Anybody have any clue...

looks to be a coolant temperature switch that operates the cooling fan.

I found the relay on top of the fuse block. I ground the black wire and the car will start through the key now. There was no square of black goo behind my kick panal. I did get the problem fixed...

which ever is attached to the key that prevents the vehicle from starting. I can start my car with a remote switch that is attached directly to the starter, but not with the key itself.

Ok, I had spark but when i measured the pulse width on the injectors i got nothing. I did have spark, but I have an aftermarket distributor and coil. I am doubting that they would prevent my system...

Just got off the phone with Jim at TPIS, he said that they could upgrade my chip and remove the vats system from it. He didnt say if the vats would keep the injectors for operation though.

I had a similar problem, when I dropped my plug it altered the gap. I had to pull each wire while it was running and verify which cylinder wasnt firing, that is how I found the faulty plug.

I sprayed started fluid in the intake and it fired up. I varified that all plugs were firing by hooking up an inline spark identifier. Someone just mentioned that where i replaced the computers from...
