Thanks for the replies, my 84 does have the coil over the distributor. I changed that and the spark plugs probably 4 years ago, the wires 3 years ago. I am gonna check all the stuff suggested,...

I just hose off the hood really quick cause I know to much water will cause more of a problem. I've seen people just hose off their engine, not saying its wrong I just doesn't seem to me like it...

Like all of us, I like keeping my Z as clean as possible. After washing the car it runs really rough, have to run it pretty steadily to get the moisture out, other wise it will stall out on stop...

Truthfully, never have complained about it being too hot in my car with the vents. Even with windows rolled up!! That is of course after I get moving.

electric windows, cruise control, rear wiper, am/fm radio, no cassette, air vents, no ac. Was equipped with hotter cam shaft, to run on the auto bond in Germany.

An before I go any further I would suppose this car would be more like in restoration than complete original. There is no mods in this car, only OEM replacement parts.

I would go with Night rider327, comment. If certain things are not done right in a engine rebuild, havoc will occur in a short period of time. An cost more in the long run.
