Well the only way to tell a 305 or a 350 is to check the engine for any markings, than run the casting number online correct?

Same. The car is flawless as far as body as well as interior. I think it's just the engine that's problematic. He said he couldn't do it since his father wouldn't let him do it in their drive way....
