ok to remove it you shouldnt get more that a couple of drops of oil ... than to check the cable ... put and electric drill to the tranny end on the cable spin it and see if you gauge goes up or not

i over heat while driving and on idle ... i did bleed the system and yes the fans are working properly ... i have a feeling that my gauge and/or sensor is defective

ok if I'm right your speedometer is mechanically driven .... if it is unplug the cable and check for defaults .. if nothing seems wrong it can be your gauge ... what i did to figure it out on my car...
