My above post sounds harsh.that wasn't my intention.thread tape could possibly desensitize the KS.overtighten could make it too sensitive ...
accurate KS info is crucial .....sound travels through...

Then it sounds like you haven't been tuning long.......there's possible timing inaccuracies in every car.
even verifying 6* timing on mark can be wrong.I've seen 5* off because of a combination of...

Another thought is only hand tighten the knock sensor......overtighten will make it too sensitive. Are you are timing is set correctally so the ecm is in its expected "window" of timing control?

Two thoughts for me.
1) there should be no knock counts while normaly driving.you mentioned 1 count.counts should show 0......(in a perfect world).
2)your ecm isn't seeing knock.its trying to...

His post is confusing. But the fact he wired the amp remote differentially fixed the problem sounds to me a remote wiring problem.

Sealed boxes does all music well, ported boxes are "boomy ".....like already stated...

The ecm is under the pass side dash.there's two 7mm screws in a plastics bracket facing the carpet. The ecm slides down and out.there's a door securing the chip in. It just pills strait out.

I agree there's drop in the wiring but test the "test" port on the motor you will see the most significant drop there.....hot wiring the harness is A very good idea too.but the Dei module mentioned...

Looks like in case thing.....should replace the original chip.....or maybe that's the original and there's an upgrade chip in the ecm now?

if you run a cooler thermostat it wont help unless theres a chip that will kick the fans on cooler/sooner....the warm city temps is for emissions....i like cooler too.
