From my understanding there are two or three of 4th gen console. Mine is from a manual and well so we may have different models and my ashtray spot has two protruding clips at the bottom that latch...

so for switch mount its self it has a pretty solid feel locked in to the ashtray my current issue is switch placement because the switch connectors are so bulky

if you want to check your fuel pump you can jumper out 2 pins on the connector. That way you can eliminate a fuel issue.

take it a little low for that initial testing make sure you get everything dialed in than drive it like you stole it because whats the fun of an engine rebuild if you cant enjoy it from

Also is that the stock upper radiator hose for an 85? I have an 88 that I did a carb swap from tpi and the way that hose route looks a lot cleaner than mine....

hey don't let a blown motor discourage you. Once you done it you will have a nice bit of knowledge of do and don'ts built up for any future rebuilds or engine swaps.

I'm in the middle of reinstalling the serpentine setup back in my 88 and I ended up pulling the bracket of a 92 blazer and installed it on place of the one that came with my car.
