Re: Backfires and runs like crap

I'm definite the distributor isn't 180 off and have played with turning the distributor without the light attached to see if anything happens and all it does is runs worse.

Unfortunately, I don't...

Re: Backfires and runs like crap

Spark plug wires are all in the correct order (doubled checked just to be sure), plugs, cap and rotor all look good and there is spark getting to the plugs. It can never be that easy. :(

Re: Backfires and runs like crap

Thanks for the reply. The plug is there and I did disconnect it to set the base timing. The wiring harness is a mix between the Jeeps and Camaro's with the majoring being the Camaro's in the engine...

Backfires and runs like crap

I did a quick search and couldn't find the same symptoms that I'm having. I have an '89 TPI 350 setup in my Jeep. Just about everything is new in it including MAF, ECU, memcal, MAT, CTS, TPS, IAC,...

Thanks. I'll probe around the wire tomorrow after work to see what I can find out. I appreciate all the help.

Re: Few quirks I could use help with

Thanks for the fast reply. The MAF is a Cardone reman, same with the ECU. The memcal comes back to an '88 350 auto. I'm currently running it with a 350 and 5 speed Jeep trans but wired everything...

Few quirks I could use help with

So I'll start off with what I have...I swapped a '93 TBI long block into my Jeep and swapped on a TPI intake out of a late '88 IROC (the wiring seems to follow the '89 setup for color but doesn't...

Re: Fuel Injector Swap

After much searching, it looks like the pink top Ford ones are really the only good junkyard replacement ones out there, which the junkyards around me don't have. I think I'm probably just going to...

Re: Fuel Injector Swap

That's actually exactly what I was looking for, thank you. I've seen that posting on Ebay but was a little worried when they said can be used for modifying Chevy TPI V-8, wasn't sure if it was going...

Fuel Injector Swap

I have a mostly stock '88 MAF 350 setup in my Jeep and was curious if anyone knew of any direct swap injectors from the junkyard? I have a buddy that owns a junkyard and I can get them dirt cheap to...

Re: Fuel Regulators Woes

Thanks for the reply. The only thing that worries me is the E2000 puts out 65-90 psi (not sure what a stock Camaro pump puts out) and it might be overpowering the regulator. The pressures on the...

Fuel Regulators Woes

Got a bit of a weird problem with my setup. I'm running an '88 L98 TPI setup on my Jeep and am having some fuel pressure issues. All the injectors work and everything works great for the most part...

Re: What and Why.....

The first isn't so much a nipple as a bracket. I grabbed one of those from the junkyard the other day, it's for the spark plug loom to rest on (I was lucky to still have it on mine).

The second...

SES Light Issue

I can't get the SES to illuminate to read the codes. I took the SES light wire and tied it into one of the lights on my cluster with a known good bulb. When I just the terminals A and B on the...

Re: TPI in a truck

Slapping a TPI setup in anything is actually very easy. The TPI setup is almost a stand alone system. I'm currently buttoning up the TPI setup in my Comanche right now but everything works and she...

Re: Few wiring questions

I actually have my ignition setup still from the original Jeep wiring, wasn't sure if there was anything running through the ECU for the NSS. Thanks for pointing that out though, just cut the wires...

Re: Few wiring questions

Awesome, thanks for the info. One other question if you would know. This is my first real time playing with Chevy so I'm going off my Jeep knowledge. On Jeeps, there is the neutral safety switch...

Few wiring questions

I'm swapping an '88 TPI setup into my Jeep Comanche and had a few questions about the wiring. The TPI setup is a MAF 350 setup that came from an automatic transmission. This setup will be swapped...
