Re: T-5 Rebuild hell

Went out to the car today and swapped out the Hurst shifter for a stock one that doesn't have anything to limit the travel, same problem. I was actually able to hold it in first when I first took off...

Thinking about selling my 84 z28 intrested in value

So I have an 84 Z28 H.O. and I really do like the car but I don't have time to keep fixing the stupid problems this 30 year old car has right now.

Just swapped the t5 trans on it to a wc unit of...

Re: T-5 Rebuild hell

Thought I'd put this in a comment as bit of TLDR summary.

Built my tranny to the specs in the DIY DVD. Its a bit of a bastard child of a WC and NWC but as an engine guy and an amateur machinist...

T-5 Rebuild hell

I bought this 84 Z28 H.O. Two years ago and enjoyed every one of its period correct 200 horses. So much so I blew up the stock NWC T5 in a year. In hindsight that was an awful idea.

I let the car...

Re: Swap to WC T5

Thanks JMD. I have another question too. Are the clutches the same? Supposing I pull my transmission and the clutch looks good will the WC trans work with the NWC clutch. I plan on swapping the motor...

Swap to WC T5

So 5th went out on my 84 with the NWC T5, it also makes whiny noises (no leaks yet), and the synchros on 2nd feel like they are going out. I need to do something about it at this point.

I found a...

Re: How to set up my car for a "skid pad"

How to set up my car for a "skid pad"

My friend has a miata and is always talking trash about my 84 Z28 and how it can't handle. So I challenged him to a series of three races, a drag (I should wipe the floor on that one), an auto-x (I...

Re: How do I get the windows out of the door on a 91 RS?

Ok thanks, they didn't look like any rivets I have ever seen. I just wanted to make sure those are a one time use fastener and it was a good idea to drill them.

Maybe you hit a bump just right and caused the body to flex. All that I am saying is it was either something hitting the window or the body is bent/flexed.

Re: Putin a z28 body kit on my sport coupe need some help please

Actually I would consider having a non t-top as being a positive, its stiffer and won't leak or rattle, and since you already own one t-top and you can't drive two cars at the same time you're set.
