I thought it was really funny too. He did a lot of gimmicky performance stuff. Performance thermostat, performance valve covers, performance shift knob etc. I'm not sure if he was serious or not......

The sports bottle might be too small, if the coolant begins to boil it could fill that up really easily and when it cools back down you might not have enough coolant in to fill the radiator back up....

Actually I would consider having a non t-top as being a positive, its stiffer and won't leak or rattle, and since you already own one t-top and you can't drive two cars at the same time you're set.
