I got it fixed. It was a faulty program on the prom. Got another memcal by a tgo member and the car idles just as it should.

The mechanic called me. He put in the replacement ecm and the fan is coming on so thats good but the idle is still unreliable. What it is doing is just not closing the iac valve after the engine...

Hey tuned, I took it into a shop. They think I got a bad ecm. Everything is reading correctly but the ecm won't engage the fan. The mechanic said he can do it all the way to ecm so it's not bad...

Ok, this is an elementary question...I really am smart but how do I test the wire with insulation on it? Poking it could gain me access to the wire but that would hurt the wire, right?

well something is wrong and I can't find a bad ground and now I know its not the ecm. I dont have a scan tool. I'm just gonna take it to a shop. I hooked up a ground toggle so I can run the fan....

I would think maybe the knock sensor is getting set of and retarding the timing. A significant knock should vibrated the sensor enough to set it off.

Turns out it was my speedometer cable. My car has the VSS behind the gauges and the speedo was jumping real bad giving the VSS jumpy readings.

I adjusted the idle speed (twice because chilton's has issues), and that seemed to make the clutch converter act a little better. My tps sensor was just a little over volt specs at closed throttle....
