Just incase anyone else has this same problem. when I dropped the pan the old filter was just sitting in the bottom of the pan so I assume that was the problem because it's 100% fixed now

Sorry I was on mobile when typing that yesterday. What I should have said was my throttle return spring fell off half way through a trip and so I tried to put the spring inbetween the bolt for the tv...

Out of no where in the middle of a 60 mile trip i lost OD and it stayed in third for a couple miles then lost 2nd then 1st the weird thing is if I turn off the car for 30 seconds the trans works fine...

i did this and i couldn't see any real play but i think i can hear the noise. it sound like the tire and rotor are hitting together but the lugnuts are tight.

i also checked the upper shock mount...

Okay I'll try that when I get off work. I do know it has some play in and out and I can make a sound if I hit it in but I don't think it's the same sound I hear while driving

you can buy a cheap harbor freight welder, all piping, and mufflers for the same if not cheaper then even the cheapest prefabbed system. then once your done you now have a welder and a new skill....

yes carb is adjusted with a vacuum gauge as per edelbrocks instructions and yes timing was set with port plugged and thorttle is opening and throttle cable is set up perfectly.

okay update. we adjusted valves correctly, changed spark plugs to CHAMPION RC12YC and upped the timing to 14 btdc. and it diffidently helped smooth everything out and picked up some power we can now...

okay yeah we adjusted the valves WAAAYYYYY to tight then, i swore i read somewhere zero lash was where the push rod stops spinning and we tightened down either 1/4 or 1/2 turn past that :doh::doh:...

My lo3 auto went from a 16.5 to a 15.4 with just headers and exhaust injectors and open element . I'd imagine with a lt1 cam and good tune and Some gears you would have no problem getting into the 14s

im in texas and my miata was more expensive to insure then my lo3 firebird or hell even my 91 302/ t5 fox body mustang. Also as someone who loves miatas, i wouldn't recommend one as your only car...

i would strongly recommend against anything with less then a 1 5/8 primary for performance. Even my previous car with a stock LO3 loved hedmans long tubes with 1 5/8 and gained power everywhere...

it didn't do it for a month or so after i put the headers on but its been doing it since then, but no i haven't tuned it at all i did bump up the fuel pressure though. i was getting a lean code too....
