The intake gasket would likely leak into the lifter galley and mix with the oil...
Have you pulled your plugs and inspected them? Maybe the intake gasket blew in to 1 cyl adjacent to the pass...

Missing coolant, smoking... yup. Your engine is eating the coolant it seems.
Is your oil frothy? Wouldnt a leaking headgasket show up obviously on a compression test?

The oil fouled plugs are because its burning oil lol.
It seems we've localized it to the engine taking in oil with the AFR at some point.
I don't see any signs of detonation on the plugs, just...

So I built the can and attached it to my PCV valve system with a really long hose...
And I noticed as I gave it throttle that there was a cloud that appeared in the can:

That's good.

At the rate its consuming oil 2.5qts/90miles would it be safe to assume that valve seals and valve guides are not the cause? Could they leak...

That's what I'm thinking. It seems to be consuming way to much oil for it to be a ring or valve issue.

Well I replaces the oil that I lost on that trip and in 90 miles I used 2.5qts on oil.

That seems like.... a lot.

Well I took it for a 90 minute ride with some friends last night.
I topped off the oil and checked the gas, good levels and probably 80psi when we left.

Heck, in VA you can write 'FARM USE' on a plate and its good if you have a truck.
Its not really enforceable is the problem because the laws are so vague.

Is the miss limited to 1 cyl?
I.e if you short cables to ground 1 at a time, can you find one where the miss nothing changes?
If you short a 'good' cyl, you'll know.

Are you disconnecting the EST wire when doing the timing?
Otherwise the computer will be making adjustments while you're trying to set it.

I have 90% of the tuning equipment, just need to get some EEPROMs, and finally I'll be able to tell the computer the 305 is gone, and a 350 took its place a while ago!

Year later update!

Winter came and the car was sitting outside tarped up to keep thr rain from leaking in through the TTops (yeah, I have THAT problem too)
Floor pans were rusty but I was able to...

iirc the only difference between the 305 and the 350 is the bore diameter.
Most parts are interchangeable.

Crazy as it sounds the FP uses gasoline for lube and cooling!
No lube and cooling = dead.

For 1500, why not? Hard pressed to find any car that runs for that much, much less a good ol' fashioned GM.
