Actually, when it comes to a 170* t-stat you are very incorrect, they only carry the common ones which does not include the 170's. For a 170* t-stat you will need to order one of the ones I listed,...

Keep the engine just tune it properly and start driving it! :D
The vacuum leak may or may not effect the EGR but even if it doesn't it will fail smog due to the leak alone.
