I think a blown ramjet 502 might work very nicely..

You have to find a way to keep the valves from dropping in, either using an air-hose...

Headman shorties are nice headers for the price. I paid 200 for mine w/ y-pipe so I'm assuming you are looking at the ones with AIR. The headers are good quality and made some worthwhile improvements...

a set of headers and y-pipe will do a lot to smooth out your exhaust note. You can carry them on and bolt them to a new small block later if you want to as well.

I don't know if your air cleaner will get wet that way, or how it would hold up. Your distributor will probably get wet but that never hurt mine.
