Re: Another Code 44

Code 44 can be intermittent. A way to tell is to get the engine to operating temperature. Shut the engine off, ground the diagnostic terminal the way you normally would to read codes. With the...

Re: V6 to V8TPI - Bin Change Verification

Welcome to thirdgen.org. If your v6 ECM identification number ends in 730, you can use it on the 350, but you must remove the 350 chip and run it in the car. You'll have to swap the harness as...

Re: SES light comes on after 10 minutes of driving every time

A knock sensor is designed to detect spark knock (detonation/pinging) and retard engine timing until the knock is gone. That's completely different from a bottom end knock.

Clear your codes and...

Re: SES light comes on after 10 minutes of driving every time

Get your IAT reconnected, that's what's throwing your code 23. With the circuit being open, the ECM is seeing infinite resistance on that circuit and is getting a reading of the air temperature...

Rbob, thanks for responding to my post. I had never given the EGR much thought, but since you mention it, the cylinder heads do not have EGR passages. Is there a way to go about eliminating that...

Re: Distributor gear change?

If the distributor came off an engine that used a flat tappet cam, you'll need to change it when using it in conjunction with a roller cam. Call Comp cams and see which one they recommend.
