^ not sure if this was to me or the OP, i have a 3500 and it drives like totally stock, i will be loosening it to around 4000 for next year..

im gonna push it in the spring with race gas and cal tracs and more boost ( maybe bigger turbo..) and see what i can squeeze outta this junk yard motor :burnout:

mines a major pain to pull.. cant pull motor / trans seperate, have to pull em together ( 4l80e is so huge in the trans tunnel..) which means i have to take off radiator, core support etc.. and come...

LSX motor mounts ??

currentl have a LQ4 sitting on a stand waiting to go in my camaro(91), i have the spohn swap mounts but do not LS1 engine side mounts.... my question is do i buy the factory style LS1 engine mounts...

its obviously far from the best scenario (stock trans and rear) but i made quite a few passes on the stock rear. i had a 9-bolt, not that it was anystronger the the gm 10 bolt....
the 5 speed i did...

make sure you put some drag radials or slicks on it, the torque is pretty overwhelming for street tires...

what trans do you have?

not into the intake manifold, just the air intaske tube, like before the throttle body..

i have a pic, dont mind the shitty looking engine bay, it was a $1200 car witha used nitrous kit. oh yea...

yes that will work. you'll have to fab some sort of bracket to place the wide open throttle switch in line with your t.b. linkage, but thats pretty much the same exact kit i ran and had very good...

i used a simple nitrous express efi single nozzle kit, a wet kit.

only other thing i did was use two steps colder spark plugs as a saftey against detonation.
oh yea and make sure youve got some...

so as far as the crank goes... if im using a 4l80e theres no need to change the crank, right? (theres not a significant difference in strength...

i have a CSU blowthru modified holley 4150 carb. 750cfm
built about a year ago.
also a CSU carb hat, polished.
and a jegs throttle cable bracket.

i paid $600 for kevin at CSU to modify my...

i also sprayed a 150 wet shot on a 305 tpi, with a t-5 and stock exhaust manifolds it went 12.93@108, then i broke the t-5; put a th350 in it and 1 5/8 shorty headers and it went 12.66@106 with a 1.7...

what part/parts dont gen III truck manifolds clear? does the passenger side fit and the drivers side hit the steering box? or is there other points of interferance???

i had honest intentions of using a LQ4 that a freind of mine has in his garage, and i know its probably superior, but ive come this far with the gen 1 stuff.... and i have good heads and ignition...

stock rods. i think a rod bolt broke first, then the rest of the shortblock.
i just got some 8.2:1 forged pistons and now im saving for some h-beams. then a crank. hoping to have it back together...

i run a msd 6al w/ btm, with a msd pro billet distributor locked, using the btm to lower timing under boost, and havent had any spark related problems or what its worth. also run two steps colder...

you need to tighten that plug gap up, youre not running crazy boost numbers but still should probably be around .025", you wanna tighten it up to prevent boost blowing out the spark. good luck

thats very similar to how i mounted my tc-78 in my 91. that was on a gen 1 355 tho, now i am starting an LQ4 build myself.

not so great in the asthetics dept. but it got the job done in the HP dept.

im gonna take my time and do hopefully alot nicer of a job on the LQ4 swap/turbo setup,, and get some paint and better...
