You should have saved yourself the headache and swapped everything from the TPI over.

If the car won't spin that pump, check the relay and the oil pressure switch. If both are gone, it won't do...

Hmmm... I can;t remember what atrocities were commited in the '85 tpi, but if it were any other TPI car, I'd suggest unplugging the MAF and trying to start it. If it does/doesn't, you go from there.

The HELL they don't! I've gotten numerous people home by unplugging the maf and forcing the car into limp home mode. Hell, some of them don't even trigger a lamp like that for a while.

Is that with regard to the iron headed TPI 350 motors in the turdgens? Mine had a designation of L98, just like every other one out there. B2L was a package designation, that's it, nothing more.

Take a peek at the engine while running at night and see if you don't see some spark leak somewhere. First thing to check.
