I have no problems with 1:6 rockers if you already have them or don't have any roller rockers and had to buy new. My only comment on it is if you already have 1:5 and are buying a new came anyway...

We had KB Hyper-eutectic pistons in our 388. Flat tops with Bowtie heads with 65cc (measured) combustion chambers. Gave us 7 great years of racing and when the motor gave up the ghost the pistons...

Got busy again this weekend. I had the A/C, carb and alternator already pulled off the 305 so I got busy and tore the rest down and pulled the motor.

What 1gary posted is important info for switching to a carb motor. Doesn't matter if its a 305 or 350, carb, TPI or TBI, the TV cable is what controls the shifting on a 700R4. Holley and Edelbrock...

Got the pistons and cam installed this weekend plus a little bit extra. I haven't degreed the cam yet but I will before locking the bolts into place.

Now to yank the 305 out of the T/A.

Yea, I was taken back by that as well. It has been my experience as well that as a general rule that 9.5 is about the highest you want to go with steel heads on a Gen I SBC.

This past weekend I got the motor and pistons cleaned. Sized the piston rings and installed the main bearings and crank into my 350. The picture is before I torqued the ARP main bolts to 70 lb.ft....
