Warm the problems are worse likely cause expanding metal/plastic in the cap is just enough to throw it off from making a good arc across the rotor to the cap post. Could even be a hair line crack...

Try a little bit of gas thru the TB. You need 3 things, spark, fuel and air. Sounds like you have spark and air. If it runs for a second or two with a bit of gas then its time to track down...
