I agree with John, the larger of the two will work well. If you did not have the 3.42's it might be different. I ran the LT4 with a 3.08 and had plenty of torque from what I remember and I didn't...

If it is electronic you might be out of luck as GM did not install the 3.73's into an electronic unit that I know of. The cable units I know they did. You could get what I had to for the 3.73's...

I read a previous post somewhere that said to put a load on the the gear to check the pattern. Matter of fact I could not get a readable pattern...

I played around with the shims and now have .006 to .008. The .006 is hard to read on one spot as it comes up different [.005-.006] depending on how you hold it. But it's mostly 6 to 8.

I would hold on the the smaller sway bar as you may need it to tune the "rear" with one day. IE: it helps with weight transfer if you need to tighten up the rear. On mine the 24 mm bar felt better...

Last Sat I chucked one of my "91" axles in the vise and set a Torsen on it. Sure was loose. Turns out the rear from my 1991 that I've had 10 years had been swapped for a 1985 model before...

I do have a Ratech install kit that has some shims in it. They do not get smaller than .010 though so I'll have to play around with it some. Does it hurt to reuse the stock shims if they are in...

The rear shock towers also have a 1.5" tube welded between the tower mounting area also. Also try to tie the main hoop into the rear of the sub frame connectors if you have them.
