Well, let's see: all five positions have Oliver main caps, center three are four bolt with angled outers, half-fill; decked then "O" ringed, already clearanced for a stroker crank. That's about it....

It's essential to know the material the piston is forged from also. Differences in the material can call for different piston to wall clearances which is why it's essential to know what you have.

Pull that valve cover and inspect the valve train. If you're running self-aligning rockers I'd definitely suspect the valve train.

I can understand your concern. Hammering on the balancer has always been a "No, No". The directions do say the engine should be COLD and the balancer HOT, but even so, those directions are contrary...
